If you walk into any court with a sane judge, and the cop shows, you're screwed. For one thing, you were speeding. Secondly, you PASSED AN OFFICER at that speed. Which was just dumb. If you're dumb enough to pass a cop at speeding even 1 mph over the limit you deserve the ticket. The only time I've EVER heard of someone getting off in a case like this was because he was pacing an officer, and a SECOND officer gave him a ticket. When the guy went to court he had the first officer summoned (wrote down his car number) and stated his case that he was following another officer at that speed. Judge ask the other officer what speed he was driving, officer stated, and the judge REEMED the other officer for being an idiot and giving him a ticket. Now this is the ONLY time I've ever heard of it. But for future reference, don't EVER pass a cop. The only ONE exception is during a sunny day, while its still bright out and the officer is going UNDER the speed limit. Speed limits are the MAXIMUM SAFE ALLOWABLE SPEED IN PERFECT DRIVING CONDITIONS. Now I don't personally agree with it, but that's the way the laws are stated. If you pass a cop, DOING the speed limit at night, he CAN give you a ticket. If you pass a cop in the rain, DOING the speed limit, he CAN give you a ticket. So basically, DON'T, and I repeat, DON'T pass a cop... especially in a Z. Case closed. Later, KaZ
